This post is all about the new DVC Lounge at Magic Kingdom that recently opened to Disney Vacation Club members.
DVC Members can now relax and recharge in this brand-new Frontierland retreat! Located right in the heart of Frontierland, Disney Vacation Club® McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge provides a warm, welcoming space for Members to take a break and share their adventures. Inspired by the spirit of exploration and the rugged beauty of the frontier, this cozy hideaway offers a perfect escape during your day of excitement.
Having a cool, restful place to take a break out of the sun is one of the perks of being in the Disney Vacation Club®. And with a new lounge now in Magic Kingdom, we now have another location to beat the heat, rest our feet, and grab a cool drink. On our most recent trip, we decided to check it out for ourselves.
Currently there are two theme park DVC lounges: McKim’s Mile House at Magic Kingdom and ImaginAtrium in EPCOT. Additionally, there is a Top of the World lounge for DVC members at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
The check-in for McKim’s Mile House is located in Frontierland between the DVC kiosk and Frontier Trading Post, facing the Rivers of America (which will be leaving Magic Kingdom soon). You’ll need to find the check-in podium near the entrance and show your DVC credentials. If there’s a wait, you’ll be added to a waiting list and they’ll send you a text when there’s a spot for you.
You can ask for a time estimate based on the number of other DVC Members on the list. Our best advice is to go ride something nearby that has a short wait time. We walked through the cut-through between Frontierland and Adventureland (by Country Bear Musical Jamboree) and did Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. By the time we got out, we had already received our text message and reported back to the podium.

Once inside, we were escorted to a seating area. Though we didn’t stay long, we were able to enjoy a cold drink from the Coke Freestyle machines and a prepackaged snack. McKim’s Mile House seems to be smaller than the EPCOT lounge, but it’s cozy and cool and a nice place for a break. There’s a trivia screen on one of the walls.
If you’re planning on making a cozy rest stop at Disney Vacation Club® McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge anytime soon, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- the lounge has comfy seating, complimentary soft drinks, Wi-Fi, Member Services Advisors, and charging cords available upon request (first come, first served)
- Operating Hours: 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (subject to change)
- Check- in Requirements
- valid Membership Card and photo ID (name on Membership Card must match name on photo ID)
- a Member can bring in up to 4 guests per Membership Card OR the number or guests on their Resort reservation (booked within their Membership)
- once you leave, you must go through the check-in process again if you’d like to return
- no strollers inside
- children may not be left unattended in the Member Lounge
- Members must remain with their guests
- only the cups provided may be used with the Coke Freestyle machines
